More about them

Manchester's latest addition to its dining scene is not a street food pop-up, a Michelin-star aspiring restaurant, or a takeaway, but a pub that draws its inspiration from Hong Kong.

The owners of Harcourt, Priscilla and her husband Brian, relocated to the UK about a year before opening their pub. Both Brian and all the staff at the pub are from Hong Kong. Brian works as a barrel aging manager at Cloudwater Brewery, where he stumbled upon some customers speaking Cantonese. He was shocked to find that one of them, Kyle, was someone he knew from a bottle shop he frequented back in Hong Kong. Over a few drinks with Kyle and his wife Fiona, the idea of opening a Hong Kong-style pub was born as they bonded over their shared love of craft beer. And thus, Harcourt was born.
